Guild Wars 2 Has A Release Date!

I'm a little late on posting this here as I'm more active on my tumblr at the moment XD.

Anyways, if you haven't heard, one of 2012's most anticipated MMORPGs, Guild Wars 2 has a release date. That date is Tuesday, August 28, 2012. However, those who have pre-purchased the game will have early access beginning on Saturday, August 25, 2012. I highly suggest pre-purchasing the game if you intent on playing it from the get go.

ArenaNet also confirmed their next and final BWE which will held from July 20-22, 2012.

Guild Wars 2: The Avengers Theme Builds

As a fan of Marvel and Avengers and today's release of the movie "The Avengers", I took a moment to make some fun Guild Wars 2 builds. Don't take them too seriously, but I did make them in mind of their viability. I couldn't think of one for Mr. Hulk Smash, as in weapon set since he uses anything to smash things, but I did have thought of him being in the warrior class, hehe.

And yes, go watch The Avengers!

Varus, the Arrow of Retribution Revealed!

Full post here

Abilities:

Living Vengeance (Passive): On kill or assist, Varus temporarily gains Attack Speed. This bonus is larger if the enemy is a champion.

Piercing Arrow: Varus readies and then fires a powerful shot that gains extra range and damage the longer he spends preparing to fire.

Blighted Quiver: Varus' basic attacks deal bonus magic damage and apply Blight. Varus' other abilities detonate Blight, dealing magic damage based on the target's maximum health.

Hail of Arrows: Varus fires a hail of arrows that deal physical damage and desecrate the ground. Desecrated ground slows enemies' Movement Speed and reduces their healing and regeneration.

Chain of Corruption (Ultimate): Varus flings out a tendril of corruption that immobilizes the first enemy champion hit and then spreads towards nearby uninfected champions, immobilizing them too on contact.

Lore:

For his incomparable skill with the bow and his unquestioned sense of honor, Varus was chosen to be the warden of a sacred Ionian temple. The temple was built to contain an ancient pit of corruption so vile that Ionian Elders feared it could envelop the island in darkness. Varus prided himself on his position, as only the most exceptional Ionian warriors were selected for the role. He lived with his family in a nearby village and led a quiet life of disciplined routine until the day the forces of Noxus invaded Ionia. Their shock troops left nothing but death and desolation in their wake, and the temple lay in their path. Varus was forced to make a decision. He was bound by honor to stay and defend the temple, but without him the village's few inhabitants could offer little resistance against the oncoming war machine. Gravely, he chose to fulfill his duty as a warden. The corruption could not be allowed to escape.

His arrows sundered the troops who tried to wrest the temple from him that day. However, when he returned to the village, he found that it had been reduced to a smoldering graveyard. Remorse at the sight of his slain family gave way to overwhelming regret and then to seething hatred. He swore to slaughter every Noxian invader, but first he needed to become stronger. He turned to that which he had sacrificed everything to protect. The pit of corruption would consume him wholly, as a flame devours a wick, but its abominable power would burn within him until he was lost. This was a path from which there could be no return. With grim resolve, he condemned himself to the black flames, feeling malevolent energy bond to his skin...and with it, the promise of ruin. He left, seeking the blood of all Noxians involved with the invasion, a grisly task that eventually led him to the invasion's most infamous perpetrators in the League of Legends.

''The life of an arrow is fleeting, built of nothing but direction and intent.'' - Varus

I've actually been waiting for this champ. Will buy :D

Guild Wars 2 Builds - Mesmer: 2-Hands Greatsword/Staff Illusion Spammer for PVE

I tried out the Mesmer profession last Beta weekend test, and had lots of fun using the Greatsword and Staff. I hope to test out in the next beta weekend in sPVP and WvWvW. This build revolves on spamming your Illusions/Clones, let them do damage and then use your shatter skills...

Guild Wars 2 Builds - Necromancer: Scepter/Dagger - Staff, Dirty AOE for sPVP | WvWvW | PVE

One aspect I loved about the Necromancer profession that carried over from Guild Wars 1, is the ability to apply conditions (debuffs) on enemies and spread them. It's like another way to deal damage aside from a direct damage route. This build is solely for that purpose, apply and stack conditions to multiple foes. You will be using Scepter/Dagger skills along with the Marks from the Staff set and Wells and Corruptions from your utility skills to get the job done...

Goodbye Star Wars: The Old Republic

Played SWTOR a little over a month… Had a decent time playing and leveling. Sadly, my enthusiasm for the game has come and gone. I do love the Star Wars francise, but in terms of execution and keeping a MMO player myself interested, Bioware and EA has utterly failed.
PVP structure in this game is kind of broken. Honestly, post 50, they should have queue matches on tiered expertise and not just queuing to any level 50’s. Oh, and the number of people who lag switch just kills the fun in it all.
The Flash Points and Operations were kind of lackluster for me making much of the end game PVE content very much uninteresting.
I still have the 30 days free from their event, but I believe I am done. Whenever the website works for me again, I am going to unsubscribe.
Maybe I’ll pick up Diablo III now. Who knows… Anyways, goodbye SWTOR, the Force was not strong enough in this one

Guild Wars 2 Builds - Elementalist: Scepter/Dagger (Signets Build) for sPVP | WvWvW | PVE
